26 May 1927 – a historic date. On this day, the first motorcycle race was held here, then known as the Badberg Quadrangle, with more than 140,000 spectators lining the track.

The current facility has a permanent and modern pit area, a new start/finish tower and one of the most advanced race control systems. The circuit is now modern and ready to host Grand Prix races for years to come.

The Free State of Saxony, the German Automobile Association (ADAC) and the Sachsenring Association continue to invest to ensure that motorsport events remain safe and competitive.
