Goodwood House

Goodwood House is a country house and estate covering 4,900 acres (49 km2) in Westhampnett, Chichester, West Sussex, England, and is the home of the Duke of Richmond. The house was built around 1600 and is a Grade I listed building.

Goodwood House is a country house and estate covering 4,900 acres (49 km2) in Westhampnett, Chichester, West Sussex, England, and is the home of the Duke of Richmond. The house was built around 1600 and is a Grade I listed building.

The house and grounds are the site of the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed, while elsewhere on the estate the Goodwood Circuit motor racing circuit at Chichester/Goodwood Airport hosts the annual Goodwood Revival, and the airfield is home to a flying school. Goodwood racecourse hosts the Glorious Goodwood and a number of other (horse) racing meetings. The grounds also host Goodwoof, an annual celebration of dogs. The event offers a variety of activities for dogs and their owners.

The estate includes two golf courses and a cricket ground, home to the Goodwood Cricket Club, a hotel and a 1,600ha (16km2) organic farm. The estate employs over 550 people and attracts 800,000 visitors a year. Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is headquartered at the estate.
