Messe München
Messe München is one of the world’s leading trade fair organisers with a broad portfolio of trade fairs, congresses and events. This includes 12 of the world’s leading trade fairs, the world’s largest industry events: analytica, automatica, BAU, bauma, ceramitec, electronica, IFAT, LASER World of PHOTONICS, LOPEC, productronica, transport logistic and drinktec.
The idea and foundation of Messe München arose out of the German economic miracle period in 1964. Shareholders of Messe München GmbH to this day are the Free State of Bavaria, the City of Munich, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, and the Chamber of Crafts for Munich and Upper Bavaria.
The “Messegesellschaft München” was founded on April 1, 1964, replacing the “Verein Ausstellungspark München”. The trade fair began 60 years ago with seven events of its own. Today, there are around 90 trade fairs worldwide, including twelve world-leading trade fairs alone – more than any other German trade fair company: bauma (the world’s largest trade fair in terms of floor space), BAU, IFAT, transport logistic, analytica, electronica, automatica, productronica, LASER World of PHOTONICS, LOPEC, and drinktec. Its professionalization made it an important economic and tourism driver for Munich and the entire region.
